Music this week ranges from classic country pop to jazz saxophone.

Chico Freeman

Saxophonist Chico Freeman started his musical journey as a trumpet player, only picking up the tenor saxophone in his junior year in college. In 1977, Freeman moved to New York City. He set about pursuing a career in music, forming his own groups and playing with innovative artists such as Elvin Jones, Sun Ra, and Don Pullen. Throughout his career, Freeman has explored the many avenues that jazz has to offer, from bop to avant-garde.
