The city of Auburn and the New York State Equal Rights Heritage Center will honor and celebrate the life and work of abolitionist and former resident Harriet Tubman.

Vendors, local artisans and food will all be part of the inaugural event. The Harriet Tubman National Historical Park and Seward House Museum will also be open and giving tours from 1 to 5 p.m. at each respective site. The community is also invited to attend the Harriet Tubman Day MLK open mic jam at Auburn Public Theater from 7 to 9 p.m.
