Folk rock duo Aztec Two-Step will return to Auburn Public Theater Saturday, Oct. 21, in support of its first album of original material since 2004, “Naked.”

The Boston duo of Rex Fowler and Neal Shulman first released their self-titled debut in 1972, taking their name from a work by beat poet Lawrence Ferlinghetti. Over the 46 years since, they’ve played Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center, and received several awards and accolades. New York City music magazine Acoustic Live! publisher Richard Cuccaro once wrote, “Aztec Two-Step is possibly the best acoustic duo in the world today.”

The show takes place at 8 p.m. at the downtown theater, 8 Exchange St., Auburn. Tickets are $23 in advance, $25 at the door, $48 VIP (includes soundcheck and meet-and-greet at 7 p.m.) and $10 student rush.
