There are still a few weeks of school left, but several camps in the Cayuga County area will offer children ways to stay busy during the summer break:

• The Schweinfurth Art Center in Auburn will hold four weeks of camp sessions in July and August for ages 6 to 10 and ages 11 to 16. There are morning and afternoon sessions for the older group during the second and fourth weeks. July 16-20: “Imaginary Worlds” for ages 6 to 10, and “Comic Adventures: Time Traveler” for ages 11 to 16. July 23-27: “Robots & Distant Galaxies” for ages 6 to 10, “Cermaics” for ages 11 to 16 and “Watercolor Weaving” for ages 11 to 16. July 30-Aug. 3: “Adventurers & Explorers” for ages 6 to 10, and “Adventurous Landscape Painting” for ages 11 to 16. Aug. 6-10: “Space Travelers & Foreign Planets” for ages 6 to 10, “Far Out Spray Painting” for ages 11 to 16 and “Sewing Explorations” for ages 11 to 16. • Auburn Public Theater will host a theater and a music camp this summer. School of Rock Theater Camp will take place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. July 16-20 at the theater, 8 Exchange St., Auburn. Taught by Kristan Sheppard, the camp will include a day trip to New York City July 21 to see “School of Rock.” Students will also learn and perform scenes from the musical. The camp is for children in grades three through 12. Exchange Street Records Camp will take place July 23-27 at the theater. Taught by Jim Van Arsdale, it will include a concert showcase July 28. The camp is for children in grades seven through 12. Tuition assistance is available to students demonstrating financial need.
