Two concerts at Auburn Public Theater over the next week will feature a pair of throwback performers whose styles mix classic American sounds.

Performing first will be Hot Club of Cowtown at 8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 31. Mixing hot jazz and western swing, the trio has been praised for its virtuosity and innovation at live shows. Tickets are $15 in advance and $20 at the door.

At 8 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 2, Dana Fuchs will take the downtown theater’s main stage. Compared frequently to Janis Joplin, Fuchs performed as the singer in the off-Broadway musical “Love, Janis” and stars in the 2007 Beatles musical film “Across the Universe.” Her mix of southern rock, soul, roots and blues has also drawn critical praise. Tickets are $30 in advance, $35 at the door and $45 for VIP (first three rows). Student rush tickets are free and based on availability.
