From The Citizen: ‘Huge help’: Tomatofest, Auburn artists among recipients of $89K in state grants

AUBURN — With 35 percent more applicants than last year, the 2017 Finger Lakes Community Arts Grants were received with a little extra gratitude Wednesday at Auburn Public Theater.

There, at the grant program’s fifth annual awards luncheon, 31 recipients from Cayuga, Seneca, Yates, Ontario and Wayne counties were given their checks for a total of $89,200.

The grants are administered through the New York State Council on the Arts’ decentralization program, organized by Auburn Public Theater and coordinated by Cayuga County Chamber of Commerce Education and Resource Coordinator Ginny Kent.
