As summer comes to a close, another season of entertainment at Auburn Public Theater is set to begin. Here are some highlights:
• 8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 13: Singer-songwriter Gabriel Kahane, whose 2014 album “The Ambassador” was named one of the best albums of the year. His new album “Book of Travelers,” released in August, is the result of a cross-country trip with no phone or internet access, talking to strangers in an attempt to better understand his country and fellow citizens.
• 8 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 15: Frank Vignola’s Hot Jazz Guitar Trio, a collaboration between the guitarist, longtime touring partner Vinny Raniolo and young talent Jan Knutson that follows Vignola’s recovery from an off-road vehicle accident that nearly killed him. The Carol Bryant Trio will open, and Vignola will also lead a guitar workshop at 10 a.m. the next day.
