Auburn Public Theater has announced its fall 2017 season, featuring a mix of new artistic experiences and some old favorites.

The live entertainment starts with SAMMY-nominated jazz group The Carol Bryant Trio and opener Dick Ward at 8 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 16. The music continues with The Suitcase Junket, a solo artist reminiscent of Tom Waits and Bob Dylan who makes music with salvaged junkyard instruments, at 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 22. The next day, from 1 to 8 p.m., the theater will team with the Auburn Doubledays to present the first Auburn BlueJazz Festival, headlined by Savoy Brown, at Falcon Park.

The music continues at the downtown theater with Loren Barrigar and Mark Mazengarb at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 27. At 8 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 30, the theater will host “Missing You” artist John Waite, of The Babys and Bad English, on his 40th anniversary tour. Songwriter Dan Bern, with opener Pepper and Sassafras, will perform at 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 13.
