A Special Evening with Rebecca Carr

“Soprano Rebecca Carr brought the whole concert to a grand finish with one of those operatic outbursts that would have left her surrounded by flying flowers if we still lived in the days when gentlemen wore boutonniers in their lapels” – Philadelphia Weekly

From an early age, soprano Rebecca Carr was destined to sing, and to spend her life on stage. At her first cry, her Russian grandmother exclaimed, “What a big, thick voice she has!” As a child, standing on a lawn of blinking fireflies, she said, “Look Mommie, they’re ALL taking pictures of ME!” As a teen, a neighbor could heard her singing ABOVE the roar of a lawnmower.

From her stage debut as an apprentice at the Merry-Go-Round Playhouse, to the stages of the United States, Europe, and Carnegie Hall, she is now home in the Finger Lakes, sharing her love of OPERA with everyone who will listen!

Presenting “A Great OPERA-tunity” to listen, learn, and relate to the world’s best-loved and well-known melodies from Opera and Operetta, and to experience the power of the un-amplified human voice in APT’s intimate Stage Right. With pianist Kathleen Haddock.
