Mecca’s APT Intern Blog!

Welcome to the blog of APT’s Fall 2017 Marketing Intern, Mecca Brooks! Mecca will share her reflections on the amazing artists performing live in Auburn this season. You never know who you’ll see at the Auburn! We hope you enjoy the first installment of Mecca’s blog @ APT.

My first reaction when I heard Paula Kinev say, “The first show you’ll be doing is this guy who makes his instruments out of trash.” I nervously laughed and said, “Oh…okay…” to be polite. I’ve had a while to prepare myself for what garbage music sounds like. Today, I listened to The Suitcase Junket’s song Earth Apple. Garbage is magical sounding! The Suitcase Junket, Matt Lorenz, has beautiful, pure and almost haunting vocals that are rare to find. Also, the lyrics are something that I’ve never heard before. With this type of genre of music, it’s easy to fall into a trap of reiteration and common place phrases in the genre. However, The Suitcase Junket is nice and fresh. 10/10 would recommend if you miss music with heart.
