The Art of Stand Up Comedy (Ages 16 and up): 6:00pm Tuesdays – ONGOING. $15 per session.

The class will be drop-in style, before APT’s weekly public open mic @ 7:30pm. Comics who attend the drop-in class will have the opportunity to perform in our popular weekly open mic directly after class! 

Beginners learn the basics of Stand-up Comedy; how to put together your own material for a stand-up comedy performance, as well as stagecraft and performance techniques for the stage. Video will be used as a learning tool.

Experienced comedians can use the class to shape their material and get feedback on performance technique.

Carey Eidel

Carey spent 25 years in New York City and Los Angeles as a professional actor, comedian, writer and acting teacher.  Getting his start at NYC’s Catch A Rising Star, he was a “regular” there until he moved to Los Angeles.  In LA, he performed at The Improv and The Laugh Factory, as well as numerous clubs across the county.  As an actor, his roles include Jurassic Park: The Lost World, The Amanda Show and as a series regular on FOX’s Daddy Dearest with Richard Lewis and Don Rickles. He is also an adjunct professor at Cayuga Community College where he teaches Acting for the Camera, Screenwriting and Film Production.
