The Art of Stand Up Comedy (Ages 16 and up): September 19th – November 14th, no class on October 31st. Students will learn the basics of Stand-up Comedy; how to put together their own material for a stand-up comedy performance, as well as stagecraft and performance techniques for the stage. Video will be used as a learning tool. The class will end with a comedy showcase for the public, with each student performing a two-minute comedy routine in front of a live audience. The cost is $125.

Carey Eidel

The class is taught by Carey Eidel, Executive Director of Auburn Public Theater (APT).  Carey spent 25 years in New York City and Los Angeles as a professional actor, comedian, writer and acting teacher.  He was a frequent performer at Catch A Rising Star, The Improv and The Laugh Factory. Acting roles include Jurassic Park: The Lost World, The Amanda Show and as a series regular on FOX’s Daddy Dearest. He is also an adjunct professor at Cayuga Community College where he teaches Acting For The Camera, Screenwriting and Film Production.
