During the Exchange Street Records program, participants will develop skills needed to learn, perform, and write popular music. Using guitar, drums, bass, ukulele, and keyboard, we will learn to play our favorite songs both solo and with a group. Students will study successful techniques in the areas of improvisation, stage presence, and live sound. We will also study songwriting techniques and song structure with the goal of composing our own songs for performance and future recording. Our semester will conclude with a live concert performance at the Auburn Public Theater. Following completion, participants will also be invited to showcase their new skills in the Perform 4 Purpose concert series.
